Volunteer Spotlight – Jeff Weinstein

Jeff Weinstein has been honored with a Shining Star Award by the National Association of Interpreters, a professional organization dedicated to advancing the profession of interpretation. The Reserve congratulates him on earning the award and is so proud and grateful that he is part of our volunteer team.

Jeff began volunteering in events with The Reserve in January 2013. He has helped The Reserve in everything from Trail Clearing and Weeding, Astronomy Nights, Interpretive walks, Summer Day Camp, and so much more.  He is an integral part of our school field trip teaching team.  Students delight in having him as an instructor who opens them up to learning about the natural environment.

Jeff is a retired Park, Open Space, and Trail Planner with 30 years of experience. He has a degree in Geography/Ecosystems Analysis from U.C.L.A. and did graduate work in Geography at U.C. Riverside. Jeff has been a Field Naturalist with the Reserve School Programs since April 2014. He loves all sports, outdoor activities, travel, is an avid lover of the outdoors and a trained naturalist.

He has spent many years in the non-profit sector working in the fields of sustainability, conservation, and youth development.

We congratulate him on winning the Shining Star Award from NAI and thank him for his nearly 200 hours of service to The Reserve.
