July 10, 2013 Astronomy Lecture

Volunteer Astronomer Avinash Agrawal educated patrons at his astronomy lecture last night.  We were delighted to learn how the universe began, how scientists measure and view it, that everything comes from the stars and how it is all intricately tied together.  Avi lectured using slides, videos and some great jokes.  Even the kids got involved answering questions like “how hot do you think the core of the sun is?”  It was a very thorough and in depth lecture and has received many kind comments.  A big, big thanks goes out to Avi for the time he took to prepare and present, to his parents for their support and to Jean and Duana for helping with check in and clean up!
