Horno Basin Bird Walk
July 12, 2015 On an overcast Sunday morning a group of enthusiastic birders joined up for the Bird Walk at Horno Basin where we saw 24 bird species. One highlight was the male and female blue grosbeaks who hung around so that everyone could get a good look at them. The baby pied-billed grebes were precious as they followed their mom around one of the ponds. Another fun addition to the walk was just as we got to Horno Basin a coyote starting howling. We watched it standing on a knoll and enjoyed the serenade. Our next birding event is November 8th.
