From Rancho to Reserve

August 13, 2014:  In this month’s lecture, Laura Coley Eisenberg took us back in time to the days when what is now California was under Mexican rule to teach us how the Ranch came to be what it is today and give us a preview of what is to come in the future.  We learned how the O’Neill family came to own the Ranch land and how this land has been passed down and managed by the family leading up to the natural land dedications that have been made to the County, including O’Neill Regional Park.  We glimpsed into the future of this land as it will be managed by the Reserve in accordance to the federally approved conservation plan.
