March Astronomy Night
March 9, 2013
We had another very lovely Astronomy Night event Saturday. We saw two Iridium Flares within a minute and a half of one another. The first was very, very bright, such a fascinating sight. In addition to seeing Jupiter, it’s moons, shooting stars and learning about various constellations,we viewed Orion’s Nebula, which is a star nursery. We could see baby stars and saw the dust that was flowing away from their “birth”. Thanks to our volunteer astronomers: Mike, Avi, Rob and Keith for a very interesting night! And thank you to our volunteer Duana for her assistance in checking patrons in, helping to pass out cookies, hot cocoa and breaking down after the event was over. Our volunteers make this event the place to be!!
