July 9, 2016 The Moon: A Look at our Nearest Neighbor in Space

We had a wonderful evening for our very first public program at our new Reserve Headquarters! Spencer Murray gave a wonderful and very informative presentation about our moon. He discussed: the origin of the Moon, the Moon’s phases, lunar eclipses, tides and the family that can be seen on the moon.
Afterwards, we spent time looking at the moon, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars as well as other objects through our volunteer astronomers’ telescopes. It was a beautiful clear evening and everyone present enjoyed themselves.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, Spence, Keith, James, Andi, John, Paul and Patti, for making this premiere event a grand success!
