Girl Scout Hike to Horno Water Quality Basin

June 14, 2014: Early Saturday morning an excited group of local Girl Scouts hiked through Ladera Ranch along the Sienna Botanica Riverine System and out to Horno Water Quality Basin. The troop earned their water and hiker badges, learning where their local water comes from, how Sienna Botanica and Horno Basin filter the community’s urban runoff and ways they can help conserve water. Tree of Life Nursery generously donated California native Buckwheat plants, allowing each girl to take home a drought tolerant plant to help save water in their own backyards.
