Full Flower Moon Hike

May 24, 2013:  Not only was May’s full moon known as the Full Flower Moon but it was also a SUPER moon.  Named the Full Flower Moon because of flowers present during the month of May, this full moon was one of this year’s Super Moons because of its proximity to earth during its fullest state.  Participants on this hike enjoyed hiking in the moonlight.  And because we couldn’t have a Full Flower Moon hike without talking about wildflowers, we looked at Datura blooming along the trail.  Datura is also called moonflower and was in full bloom as twilight fell upon The Reserve.
