December 3, 2016 The Moon: A Brief History of Moon Exploration
On a clear, chilly evening everyone enjoyed listening to amateur astronomer, Spencer Murray, explain the interesting history of Moon exploration. Afterwards, while sipping on hot cocoa, we went from telescope to telescope viewing planets: Venus, Mars and Uranus. In addition to those and the Moon we also saw Alberio, Aldebaran, Orion, Rigel, Betelgeuse, the Pleiades and M15, a globular cluster.
Thank you to our volunteer astronomers: Spencer, James and Ray for sharing their equipment and expertise and to Lawrence, Russell, Gwendy, Chip, Anabel and Gary for helping with set up and breakdown and keeping our guests safe.
