2014 Christmas Bird Count
0 Comment
December 20, 2014: Once again, The Reserve proudly participated in the National Audubon Society’s 115th annual Christmas Bird Count. Eager “citizen scientists” set out at sunrise to count and record birds at The Richard and Donna O’Neill Conservancy and Horno Basin. This year 50 different species were identified with over 700 individual birds spotted or heard. Birders were excited to see an increase in the bird populations from last year’s count, where over 400 individual birds were identified. The OC Register also photographed and reported on the event in the local section of Sunday’s paper on December 21, 2014. View complete Christmas Bird Count data on The Reserve here.
