October 8, 2016 International Observe the Moon Night

Everyone had a wonderful time at our first ever International Observe the Moon event. Keith Holliday started us off with a lesson about what this event is about and then taught us a little about the Moon. We then looked through the volunteer astronomers’ telescopes to observe what we were just taught. It was a very interesting evening and mostly clear skies. Besides the Moon we saw Alberio, Mars, Saturn, Ring Nebulae, a planetary nebulae call the Blue Snowball and the Dumbell Nebulae. It was all very fascinating.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for making this a successful event: Keith, Spence, James, Ray, Kelly, Kayla, Sue and Tony!! Couldn’t have done it with you you!
