Yoga in Nature II
March 2, 2013: Warm, sunny weather combined with a cool breeze kept temperatures moderate for Yoga in Nature II. Carolyn Hooks was our volunteer yoga leader, and made sure that there was a nice balance between hiking and yoga stretches along the trail. The enormous Sister Oak provided ample shade for our group of seventeen as we did Warrior II and Triangle poses. There was also time for interpretation, and participants seemed to enjoy learning more about wood rats, wildflowers and native birds. We ended the yoga hike in resting poses near the majestic Mother Oak, and after our final “Namaste” it seemed like everyone could have stayed near the peaceful Mother Oak long past the time that the hike was scheduled to end.
